It took me about 8 hours alone to install this system. I installed it prior to seeding a brand new lawn. Had to dig an 8' deep trench to burry the lines. I used all of the 125 feet of plastic pipe that comes with it, but I'm pretty sure you can get more at the hardware store - same as Pex. I have it set for maximum coverage (all sprinklers doing 360 degrees) in a 2x3 configuration rectangular configuration - it covers an area of 50'x60'. Make sure to go view the user manual for this product on the Rain Bird website - it shows how to test your water flow rate and it's important to have enough for the system to work properly. The timer works great, but you can only water twice a day max - would've been nice to have up to four or something.With all that said, you really need to accept that this system will not cover big areas, but most people have less that 3000 square feet of lawn anyway. Had it for 3 weeks now and my lawn has started to grow. Without this system, and with my travel schedule, I would not have been able to give my new lawn the attention it needs.
